Course Change Notice:
We have a big announcement about our April 6 Billy Goat Climb. We’re moving the course to Silverado. Though Indian Truck Trail (ITT) was originally approved, we have word from the Forest Service that ITT is no longer an option. Fortunately, we have an awesome Forest Service. They put in many hours over the past couple of days to work with me. It’s one thing coming up with a course, it’s quite another getting it approved. When they mentioned Silverado, I couldn’t help but smile. I love that area. It is still just one hill, but the hill will be Maple Springs instead.
About the race: The course is in a more remote area than our original course in Temescal Valley. We will be shuttling runners from a lot on the edge of town to the Start/Finish, a couple miles up Maple Springs Road to a spot in the canyon, nestled next to the creek. A gradual climb immediately begins from the Start Line. There’s also about a mile of asphalt aside the creek to run before hitting dirt. You may want to bring an extra pair of dry socks! The elevation gain is about 3000’, somewhat less for the 10k. We are still finalizing things, and will have the shuttle pick-up location and all other details broadcasted by Monday (4/1/24).
No Refunds. This race does not allow refunds of any kind. Race entries will be applied to the following year's race should the Billy Goat race get cancelled due to circumstances beyond the race director's control (fire, government, shutdown, etc). Our first choice is not to cancel. We always have a Plan B. If the trail becomes unavailable, we will move to Plan B if possible.
