California's premiere trail marathon was first run in the Saddleback Mountains of the Cleveland National Forest in 1988. An annual event for nearly three decades, it was cancelled in 2018 (#HolyFire)on its 30th anniversary. We were back in 2019, re-routed, and then cancelled by the pandemic in 2020 and back again in 2023, again re-routed.

An annual event for nearly three decades, it was cancelled in 2018 (#HolyFire)on its 30th anniversary. We were back in 2019, re-routed, and then cancelled by the pandemic in 2020 and back again in 2023, again re-routed. This year, 2024, were hoping to return to our original route but it is looking very likely that some of the trails will not be ready. Therefore, we will be modifying it some, same Start/Finish with some paved campground road, dirt truck trail and single track trails as usual. We promise it will be just as daunting. Elevation gain is significant (approximately 4,000') for the longer distances (not so much so for the 5k).
